Engine alignment O'Day 30

I am about to install my rebuilt Yanmar 16HP into my 30' O'Day. I appreciate any tips to align the motor and maintaining the alignment over the sailing season. Also any tips on packing and maintaining the packing box.

I also have to check the alignment on my engine this summer. I will try and use a straight edge on the shaft coupling while unbolted and after the boat is in the water. I will check the alignment every 90 degrees and hopefully correct any radial misalignment. A feeler gage to measure the gap between the drive coupling halves should help resolve the axial misalignment. Well this is my plan let me know if you figure out something better.
