Recently bought 1986 Hunter 31. On the Yanmar 2GM20F I am replacing the exhaust elbow and mixing elbow and need access to front, side and back of engine. How can the wood cabinet be disassembled to gain access to the engine?

You do NOT need to remove the cabinet. There are the bolts on the back of the engine. Remove the bolts then remove the hose from the elbow. If you purchased the exhaust manifold, elbow and connector, then you just need to reassemble the parts and attach the exhaust hose. It may be a good time to replace the exhaust hose too.

Thanks for you response. The exhaust elbow and mixing elbow were already removed when I bought the boat. When the exhaust elbow was removed all 4 bolts broke off in the block. I now have to drill the bolts and use an extractor to remove the bolts. There is not enough room inside the cabinet to drill the bolts so it appears that I have to remove the cabinet.
