I will be looking for a new to me older boat in the near future. I am slowing losing my Catalina 30 ( long story... Katrina victim) and after much help ( and I mean MUCH ), i have decided on a late 1970's either a Hunter 37 Cutter or an Endeavour 37 Ketch. The narrowing process of these 2 models has been made based on: 1) I WANT A CUTTER OR A KETCH for obvious reasons. 2) The amount of money i can afford. 3)Im pretty much sold on the 37 Hunter Cutter because of the positive owner reviews. 4)Now I'm also sold on the idea of a ketch largely due to postings and responces on this and the Hunter sites. NOW I NEED HELP.... I need owner / experienced sailors reviews on Endeavour 37 Ketches. THANKS in advance for all your help,..... Tony

do some research and you'll see

a CSY of that vintage is miles better than either the Hunter or Endeavor...I sailed one for a year in the Caribbean and would never consider that with either of the others... especially this one ;)

Thanks Guy

Thanks Guy, this will give me something to think about. I have looked at yachtworld and various other sites in the past few weeks. What i neglected to say was, the late 1970's era that i selected to look from, was not an arbitrary time span, but based on what was available in the $35,000 to $40,000 max. range and not considered project boats. I am 59 years old, i figure i have probably another 10 years left of solo sailing. If a project boat sets me back 2 years, thats 20% of my life and the BEST 20%. I need a boat in fairly good shape that can be sailed and motored at time of purchase, because as all 'used boat' buyers know, everything works fine when you test it out, then wait 3 to 6 months.....no more SDR&R
