i HAVE LOOKED FOR TWO SEASON NOW,
AND AFTER LOOKING AT CATALINA, HUNTER, RANGER, AND OTHERS TOO NUMEROUS HERE,
i SEEM TO LIKE THE ENDEAVOR 33 OVER ALL. MORE SPACIOUSNESS, BELOW AND IN THE COCKPIT;
SOLID WELL BUILT FEEL, MAYBE A LITTLE TENDER, MANY OPENING PORTS, SHOAL DRAFT, REFRIG. IN THE ICE BOX
DINGY DAVITS, AND SO ON.

HOW ABOUT ALL YOU OUT THERE, LET ME KNOW YOUR EXPERIENCE OR THOUGHT ABOUT BUYING AN e33; SAILING AN E33, COMPARING IT TO ??? @ 33 FT SIZE.
i WOULD LIKE TO USE HER COASTAL CRUSING, UP OR DOWN THE ICW, AROUND THE FLORIDA COAST & KEYS
AS WELL AS OFF THE MAINE COAST.
i HAVE A COUPLE YEARS SAILING EXPERIENCE IN FLORIDA COASTAL WATERS AND CREW ON MAINE COASTAL WATERS.

WHAT WORRIES ME IS WHAT I DON'T KNIOW !

VERY APPRECIATIVE OF YOUR REPLY.

I did some research on them a while back -- one interesting/smart thing, for a few years they used plastic/fiberglass for coring instead of wood. Which would really save some long-term maintenance issues that come up on just about every other brand.

I like my friends Endeavor 32' which has a shoal draft keel. She won't out sail a fin keeled boat but she's a pretty good sailor.
There might be some issues with 'oil canning' hulls but I have not seen this on the Chesapeake. My friends boat got some blisters from being in the water for years on end. 1980 vintage.

Endeavors have beautiful, classic lines, too, and warm interiors. When I get back to keelboats someday, that's a line that will be under consideration.

So far we love our Endeavour 37.

http://purplesagetradingpost.com/sumner/endeavour-main/endeavour-index.html

Very solid construction as the 20,000 lb. displacement indicates. We were looking for a boat to take trips in around Florida, the Gulf, the Bahamas and possibly up the East Coast, so safety, draft, room aboard and water, food and other storage came ahead of pure sailing ability.

So far our only trip has been moving her about 70 miles from Ft. Myers Beach to the yard we are in near Charlotte Harbor. That was a good trip with no problems and we did get to sail a little once out of the ICW. We have been living aboard her now going on 3 months up on stands while we have been working on the interior and some other items for future trips. Even with all of the tools inside and construction going on she is very comfortable living in and roomy.

One thing that we didn't do and should of was had her hauled out and the bottom checked. We trusted a work order that had shown blister repair and barrier paint. Well it turned out the barrier paint had only been put on the blister repair. The new blisters since that work was done has cost us an additional $2000-$3000 to repair vs. just putting on more bottom paint. We would of still bought this boat for other reasons, but it might of gotten the price down some. I'd also check the thru-hulls. We did know from the survey they needed replacement and I'm doing that with help from MS's site (thanks) and we will have a better deal than new.

There is another Endeavour 37 in the yard here for sale for under $30,000 I believe and the hull looks nice and the boat looks real nice, but it was surveyed last week for a prospective buyer and he didn't take her due to possibly some rot in a bulkhead. I got that info second hand and don't know if it is true or the extent of it, but to me just looking at the boat from the outside and online pictures it looks like a nice boat for the money.

Before this post I wasn't aware of the '33, knew of the 32 and other boats our size and larger, but not the '33. Looking at pictures there is a lot of our boat in it. We considered a '32, but I'm glad that we ended up with the '37 due to the increased room. If you plan extended trips the '37 has room, still for more than 2 if it is months at a time it would be tight.

Good luck,

Sum

My dock neighbor, for years until I sold my last boat and got the X, lived on his E32 all summer, with his girlfriend. Even had a satellite dish mouned on a piling. It was actually quite comfortable below decks, considering it's an older design, which tended less towards the giant interior with Corian counters approach of today. Your E37 must be quite comfortable for two, and I prefer the look of those interiors (very salty) over current offerings (very European). Same with the exterior lines. But that's just me.

One thing to watch on Endeavors is the mast step. Some of them need to be fixed on the keel stepped mast.

The E32 has this fuel bladder in the keel configuration which tends to be a source of irritation to those who haven't kept it in shape. It is about 5 gallons, apparently was intended as a ready source of fuel in rough seas separate from main fuel tank, so that no matter how much you are heeled over the engine will have a steady inline fuel supply. Or at least that's how it was explained to me. The Pearson 32 is almost identical but doesn't use this method.
