Fed up w/ personal attacks I'm done with SBO
I had a brief meeting with Roger MacGregor today on an unrelated matter but I can report that the Mac 26 is no more. The main factory buildings are empty, the last 26 came off the line 2 days ago.

Fifty one years at the same location and thousands of boats from 15 to 70 feet, the end of an era.

Any info on why didn't he pass the company onto someone or sell it? Seems there's a market..?

His daughter and her husband will continue the family tradition based in Florida. I believe they now have the molds from the M and are changing a few things along with also introducing a new boat in the fall...

Roger is working on a 70 footer that is suppose to go into production but will be a much more expensive boat than the 65 was with a lot of carbon fiber and other items to make the boat competitive again. Ruth and I saw it when we visited the factory a couple years ago in CA,

Let's see, how can I say this?

I have no issue with Sumner's information. I did not feel comfortable disclosing more than I did in the opening post without further consent however.

All that information has been posted in the past, including a video of Mike at the factory, showing the new 70' Pretty nice design, much lighter construction and stronger. Should fly.

As I don't follow trailer sailor forums and news I was not aware of what was common knowledge and what might be sensitive information. Without such knowledge the safe move was to be careful rather than take a risk. I was trying to provide information and at the same time be responsible about it.
