Hiee all,

Anyone in here use the CM-93 version 2 charts? I have the entire set of world charts offshore and am wondering just how accurate they really are. Mine are 2010.

PS I also have the noaa charts for the entire eastern seaboard plus the gulf of mexico and some of the carribean.

ENCs have to meet some pretty stringent requirements to be certified for use in commercial nav systems. Did they come with a cert?

The short answer is maybe.

ALL charts are based on soundings and fixes, right? So WHEN those readings were taken, and HOW they were taken, makes all the difference.

Use the old navigational suggestions: never depend on only ONE source of info, and keep your head OUT of the boat. Like, Roger recently advised that when running the ICW don't depend on the charts, and look for the thin water WITH YOUR EYES.

Hiee guys,

I think what I was actually trying to ask is how accurate are these charts when you zoom in on them. Do they show the most predominate hazards to navigation?
And yes we will keep watch when entering leaving harbours etc as well as those area's on the charts indicating dangers.
Of course we do have paper charts for back up and I am thinking more and more of looking at chart books instead of the charts proper.
