I recently installed a electric halyard winch on the cabin top on my NONSUCH 30 and the next step is to build an enclosure inside the cabin to hide the motor and cables. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to build and enclosure or know of a marine fiberglass shop that can build it?

Attached are pics of the halyard winch motor from inside the cabin as well as pics of an enclosure on a friends boat as it came from the factory 35 years ago.

Thanks,

Welcome to SBO.

If your friend's enclosure fits your boat, then it can be used to make a mold and you can make your own cover. Alternatively you might be able to modify your existing cover to accommodate the motor. A plastic bowl could be used to make the mold for the bump, in which case it would not be necessary to make a mold first, use the bowl or container as the female mold.

White starboard glued and screwed. Can be gel coated to match headliner color if you want.

A company that does blow/vacuum molding could also replicate this cover. I imagine it'd be really easy for them to add some height if needed

make it of 1/8" plywood.. paint it to match or do a nice varnish job on it.
