Tired of the water in the rudder post. While recoring (the weather is killing me), many smaller projects are getting done. Greg P36-2 #101 Four the Soul

Emergency Tiller Cover

Greg, Was there no cover there? My P38 has a snap in cover and I have had no problems. This has not been the year to do major boatwork on the East Coast. Will you get sailing this year? Bill

She Will Sail!

Bill, Tell me about it.....weather has not given me the necessary windows to do the glass work etc. but it will get done. Starboard side is being faired out now....non skid will be on next week (I hope). However with this delay, my wife and I have done many projects inside the boat....I am going broke though....lol. I will be in the water at some point though, even if it is late in the season. Slip is paid for. My emergency tiller cover was a single peice of plastic with one screw. In rains, water goes into the rudder post which is no good for the longevity of the rudder. I cut a peice of teak to fit the cover and bonded it to the fiberglass. No more water How has the sailing been so far this year for you? Maybe I will see you out in the Sound one day. You ever get over to the Long Island side on day sails? Greg

Boat Projects

Greg, Surprised to read about you old rudder post cover. As mentioned ours is a standard snap out cover that is water tight. I'd like to hear about your projects. This year I installed a new head Y valve and a new GPS chartplotter at the helm. Am trying to figure out how to vent the cockpit lazarette as our holding tank is under that floor. Our heater is in there and it pulls in air and sends it into the boat. Sailing has been marginal so far, you haven't missed anything. Out only twice, once in dense fog and the other in the cold. We rarely go west of Mattituck. Boat knows it is supposed to go east. Bill
