It should be within 6' of the toilet
Because that's as far as waste will move in the time that 999.9% of people will spend pumping a manual toilet or leave their finger on the flush button of an electric toilet...and it can't treat anything that doesn't make it all the way from the toilet to the treatment unit. If you're careful to flush longer to make sure bowl contents make it all the way into the unit, you can fudge that up to a foot, but no more. It also has to be within 6' of the discharge thru-hull. Although it should be in a location that provides access to it, it rarely does unless a fuse blows or the hoses need replacing. So why do you want to move it to more convenient location? Convenient to do what to it?If you don't have a manual for it, you need one. If it's the current MC version, you can download and print one from the Raritan website here: http://www.raritaneng.com/products/waste_treatment/lectrasan.htmlIf it's an older version, call Raritan at 800-352-5630 x 6 to get one...and READ IT before ayou attempt to use it or do anything to it..'cuz it you don't understand completely how it works and how to maintain it, you can damage it...and that can cost you big bucks. Meanwhile do not use any household chemical cleaning products or bowl cleaners...they'll damage the electrodes. And btw, the correct name for it Lectra/San (no "e").
