The fan on the A/B hasn't worked since we bought our '85 in '96. The fan work's when disconnected from the EM with 12v applied. I made some inquires last year about a rebuilt but it was $300+/-. I've considered just wiring it direct so it runs all the time. Not sure what the draw would be.

Amperage draw

The fan only draws .4 amps when operating. I would check to make sure the fan was wired to the correct terminals on the module. It is rare a module will operate the compressor but not the fan. The fan is supposed to be connected to terminals + and F. Check to see the fan was wired this way. Phil

Still not working

Phil, I connected as shown on the sketch on the unit. F & C. Still nothing. I can turn the fan blades. Any other ideas? Due to the location of the unit in the rear locker, I could not determine volts and amps. Will try again next week.

Try this

If the fan works on a standard 12 volt battery then it may be that the wires were either fed in to far and the terminal screws are bitting down on insulation and not wire. Strip back a little more insulation and put it back together. Usually when a fan fails it will studder and seem stiff. It may make a single stiff revolution but then stop. If your fan is moving freely, then its more lickly its something else such as the above mentioned.
