Electrolysis

Has anyone had problems with electrolysis in the centerboard Hunters? I keep my 1997 Hunter 26 in salt water. I bought the boat in 1998. In the survey conducted before buying, the ballast tank valve and the stainless steel centerboard assembly showed some slight damage. I bonded the centerboard metal and the valve together inside the boat, and ran the wire to a zinc bolted to the rudder. The zinc is deteriorating. I am getting ready for another haulout soon. It has been about two years since I was up last. I'll inspect everything. But I am curious if anyone else has had this problem and how they dealt with it.

No problem with my h26

It's a '94, I've had it since 2000. Maybe some minimal pitting on rudder plates. Ballast tank controls and compression post plate seem ok. I have not been able to see the center board pin. It's been in salt water since '97 with one season on the hard. Winter haulouts are a must here. Try posting in Small Boats Forum. alan
