Electrolysis on rear Keel bolt?

I am a new owner of a Hunter 1984, 34. shortly before I put the boat on the hard I noticed some white substance bubbling from around the rear keel bolt. Once I removed it I noticed that it seems to be caused by electrolysis. It stayed clean for a few days but when I put it on the hard I started seeing the bubbling action again. This boat has a SD steel keel. Any suggestions on how to stop this electrolysis? And how to clean the area that is already been affected? What is puzzling me is I have no sign of electrolysis on my zincs, or my prop. But significant signs of electrolysis on the rear keel at the bolt location. Thank you for any help you may have.

Is the keel connected electrically to the rest of the boat ? did you replace or add any new electrical equipment to the vessel ? does it occur with the shore power removed ?

Strange one.. Keel is cast iron.. Is the problem electrolysis and not something like cleaning powder ?? The keel is (was?) bonded to the standing rigging and lifelines. Some folks have this connected to the batt negative as well.. Would be unusual to have electrolysis while on the hard. I dunno.. Pictures?

Electrolytic corrosion would be difficult with the boat out of the water. The water acts as the electrolyte for the ions to leave the more reactive metal. Corrsion effects are seen where the metal contacts the electrolyte. It sounds like perhaps a caustic liquid was spilled in the galley and drained to the keel bolt access. When the boat was put on land it seeped back to the bolt. (Yeah, it could happen! ;-p)
