I am having an electrical problem. I have just changed out the battery charger and it ran fine for about 5 minutes, charging away. All of a sudden the main AC breaker tripped at the panel. Thinking I may of had a bad battery, I isolated all the batteries, disconnected all the batteries and disconnected the charger all together. Now the problem still happens the 30 amp main AC keeps tripping even if I plug in a lamp. Any suggestions? Is there a chance that the main breaker has become faulty? Shouldn't the outlet breaker (30 amp) have tripped first being that the lamp was plugged in? I am in a quandry. Please someone advise.

Has probably gone bad. If with all the output breakers turned off, the main breaker still trips, then it must be bad. Or you have a big short in your panel. Just make sure that you don't have a loose wire in the breaker panel that is shorting out.

also check connections on the breaker
that is tripping. looose on corroded connections at the breaker will heat up and can trip the breaker.

Apparently I had a bad battery which caused the new charger to draw too many amps and tripped the breaker. The Breaker must be heat senistive because the next day the breaker worked fine after a day of rest. Also, I noticed that the main breaker has a polarity trip on it that can not be found in a traditional boat us or marine warehouse. Would be noce to know where you can get a replacement if you needed it.
