Have an 85 hunter 22 and would like to creatively install an after-market 110 / 30 marine electical system, that powers both 12 volt and 110. Curious to see if any other hunter owners have done this, and if so how they have jumped the hurdles. Any recommendations would surely be welcome. Historical note: all power previously provided by standard 110 outlet, however new marina mandates proper marine system, and recommends it for everyone as a "jury rigged" system problems may negate insurance claims, etc...

Working on same problem

I'm trying to work out the bugs for the same situation on my 240. Here's what I've decided so fur... The shore power cable is 46 bucks from West Marine; the inlet connector (which feeds the power to the boat) is 39 for a plastic or 61 for stainless. That's all the expensive stuff. My current thinking is to feed the inlet adaptor to an AC outlet with GFCI breaker mounted to the box I built to surround my batteries. From that outlet, I will run (tie in) the power connector for my battery charger. The 12 volt power will feed through the batteries as usual; with the ability to run any AC appliances through the plug mounted to the box. I haven't priced marine grade AC outlets yet; but don't figure they can be too expensive. Please let me know what you might have come up with.

Mark...update for you

Mark, working with a few folks right now locally. Looks like you're onto something, and plan to have something solid by end of 4th weekend--so far your solution looks like the best option. Thanks for the advice. Will advise later, john
