My ProTech 1220 bit the dust and quit working. Checked the internal fuse and it's O.K. So for father's day I got a new ProTech 1240I plus and two Duracell 6v. batteries. I have the following question. Since I am going to set up the two 6v batteries in series, I will assume that I can connect the 12v lead from the charger as long as the two batteries are connected in series???
Also do I need to install another ground home run to the block for this bank or can I tap into my negative lug at the starter battery??It all goes back to the block anyway??
Thanks for your help.

Does the negative lug have more than four wires connected to it? If so you should use another ground. I am not sure about the 6 volts???

Here are the two 6v DuraCells wired. The charger ground can go to a good engine ground. The charger positive can go anywhere on that red cable run that is convenient.

Thanks for your imput. I used an old cable to join the two batteries and test the system. All is good. I just have to order a short cable to join the batteries made of tinned wire with the correct terminals.
Thanks
