Am not getting any "juice" to the back of the ignition switch. Have verified that the ignition swith is still good. But the (supposed to be) "hot" wire coming into the back of the ignition is totally dead. Batteries are all charged up and everything else aboard the boat operates fine (radio, lights, etc.), but no power whatsoever getting to the control panel in the cockpit. No buzzing sound; no power to any gauges or blower fan switch; no "clicking" sounds. Any ideas? This problem just started. Have operated the boat for 3 yrs with no electrical problems, and used it as recently as 3 wks ago and everything was OK.

Did you check the
breaker on the battery switch? Are there any other breakers or fuse between the switch and the engine? How are the battery terminal? Did you lose your ground? Easy to check. Use your VOM to ohm out between the engine and the negative on the battery.

Look for a fuse in the starting circuit.
On our Yanamar 3GM in our C-320 it produced the exact same symptoms when it blew. It was located on the port side, typical auto style fuse and holder in the orange wires. Yours is likely to be different but look for it.

When it happens all of a sudden
the problem is usually an open circuit - the switch is disconnected from the rest of the electrical system. A blown fuse (or breaker), or a broken wire. A corroded ground connection happens more frequently, but usually gives intermittent problems before quitting completely. Get out the multimeter, and start tracing! Good luck! Peter

Check the pulg under the moter.
There is a plug that hooks the wire harness to the moter and its in the bilge by the muffler .Its hard to see and has tape around it most of the time becouse the clip that hold it tight get broken .See if the tape smells burned ,Try wiggeling the plug and see if the lights come on.The hot wire from the starter runs to the plug. John
