Had to replace panel and 90% of wiring this weekend. Lots of fun. My panel was located near the bottom of the starboard bench and the back of the panels were completely corroded. Moved it to portside of cabin under deck on the wooden brace. So much easier to get to as well as hopefully much less trouble with salt corrosion. Any one else run into this? By the way, I made the new panel surround out of pine with one coat of cherry stain and 4 coats of spar urethane. It matches the original woodwork perfectly.

Maybe Zincs

I don't know all that much about galvanic action but maybe your zincs have to be replaced more often to neutralize the corrosion. Larry B.

Liquid Tape

I hope that you used liquid electrical tape on the back of the panel. It would be better if you use this on all of your electrical connections.
