Electrical conduits?

Greetings All,

I recently purchased vega 1469. She has been repainted and I do not know
her previous name. I've dubbed her "Fortune's Lady" If anyone recalls who
may have owned her before or where she has been let me know. Also of my many
renovations to perform the next is redoing the electrical system and adding
110AC. All of the original wiring has been cut and I am having difficulty
tracing things out. If anyone has a drawing or diagram of the layout of the
molded in conduits I would appreciate a copy.James Ward Vega "Fortune's Lady" 1469

Hi James,
You can find a manual of the Vega on the American Vega Association's home page.
Try www.albinvega.com and select the American flag.
Greetings,

Hello James: I don't know where the newer ones had conduit, but my Vega,
1071, has a single molded in conduit on the starboard edge of the deck. The
Vega Handbook shows it being on the port side - wrongly. There is also a
conduit in the cabin top that connects the two main cabin lights and the
switch. Again, these are reversed on my Vega as compared with the Handbook.
Makes me think that they just put them where ever the spirit moved them that
day.

I found these to be of limited value in rewiring due to the small size. I
did pull new wires (put my 12 V panel on the starboard side just forward of
the galley and tapped in to the conduit at that point) but found that running
wires in small pvc conduit hung just behind the wood covering boards was far
easier. I put my 120 V panel on the aft bulkhead above the icebox with a
short run to a 120 V shorepower connection. Battery charger (Truecharge 10)
fits (just) under the sink on the after side. Makes me cramp up just
remembering the contortions. Let me know if you have questions. Bill Bach,

If anybody is interested, I put some pics on Yahoo, on
the link below.

some had trailer discussions going earlier, and some
of the pics are of a trailer I built for my boat.

some of the pics are from Lake Huron, some of Tawas
Bay Marina, one pic was taken by a friend on Great
Salt Lake. All the boats seem to ride high from the
look of things.

I don't have an Albin Vega, but have learned alot of
things by reading your posts. Hope you all don't
mind.
