Regardless of your toilet, have you considered trying to increase your tank size?

We use a Raritan SeaEra, very reliable.

That's one solution...

There are electric toilets that allow you to conserve flush water...check out the Raritan Elegance and the Raritan SeaEra Raritan Toilets . Raritan has an optional 3 way flush that'll work with both...it allows you to JUST bring in flush water, or flush "dry bowl" or bring in flush water and flush simultaneously, same as single button flush. The optional "Smart Flush" panel only works with the Elegance.

Do NOT be taken in by claims that the VacuFlush can use "as little as 1 pint of flush water." That's VERY carefully worded. In fact, the amount of water it actually needs to keep it rinsed out and trouble-free is about the same as any other electric toilet. At least 90% of the problems with it are caused by using too little water. It's also VERY pricy.

If you can fit a larger holding tank in go for it. I have a 35 gallon holding tank and its pump out interval is reasonable for our use. I also have a Jabsco model 37045-1092 12 volt, 10 amp single pump electric toilet that works very well. Checked on-line today and you can purchase it for $414.

SeaEra 'conversion' is the best choice...

Practical Sailor rated the SeaEra "best budget buy"--and the Elegance "best in show" in their Feb issue, btw.

The "conversion" http://www.raritaneng.com/products/toilets/electric/sea_era_conversion_kit.html includes everything south of the bowl, which allows you to recycle your existing bowl, seat and lid, saving over $100 for the toilet and a LOT in shipping charges, 'cuz bowls are heavy! Available in both raw water and pressurized flush water versions. Defender shows the raw water version for $349...pressurized fresh water version should be about 15% less.
