I have a 2001 Nissan 9.9 4-stroke outboard for the H-260. It has an electric start and has worked great until last week. I turn the key and nothing. I can pull start the engine and it starts easy. I have charged the batteries, checked the connections, checked the kill switch. Any ideas of a next step before pulling the boat out of the lake and taking it in for repair? Thanks Dave VEGA

Fuse?

Don't have a Nissan, But my Yamaha 9.9 has a 20 amp fuse on the starter circuit. I'd start there.

location of fuse

Just for your information, the motor is built by Tohatsu with the Nissan name on it. It could be that you may have dropped your electrical line into the water with the engine running. IF so, you blew a fuse. Take the cowling off and look for the starter. Next to it usually to the left I think, you will find an in line fuse that is encapsulted in a cover. Take off and inspect the fuse to see if you blew it. OK Crazy DAVE condonnnnnnnnnndndndiqek f;ihq ;hefkewci

Its FIXED

Gentleman, Thanks for the advice - you were right, it was the fuse located by the starter. This forum payed off again - my thanks and happy sailing! Dave VEGA
