We're looking to install an electric head with fresh water flush on our 450. I understand there are new heads on the market that are much quieter than those available just a few years ago. Any recommendations?
than those that have a raw water intake pump...it's the intake pump that makes 90% of the noise (and uses most of the power), not the macerator and discharge pump. My choice for your boat would be the Raritan SeaEra, which is available as a complete toilet or a conversion kit...and both are available in both raw water or pressurized water models.
Since Shurflo's pumps are known for high durability and long lifespans--20 years or more, that would be my choice.Btw...you can check out the SeaEra toilets on the Raritan website...link below.
If you are looking for a quite water pump you should check out ITT Jabsco VSD. It is a computer controled unit that consumes less power and does not need an accumulator tank either. They can be purchased much cheaper than the marine shops through Camping World (www.campingworld.com)
