The other day, Jim Seamons called why sailiing to advise the stern rail was giving him an electrical charge while the motor was running. Jim has an electric start engine and according to him, he replace the wiring to the stern light. Jim per my advice did disconnect the electrical line from the boat and no more charge in the stern rail. Jim, when the motor is running and connected, you are charging the battery. In the wiring that you did, you must have connected the new wiring in such a way that is is hooked into the battery system whele the engine is running. Check you wiring for the stern light to make sure that you did not wire it up wrong and please advise what you find. Dave Condon

Ghost Infestation onboard

Dave, It was the bow light that I replaced and shrink wrapped the wires for protection. I spent the night in Rock Hall. On Saturday, the winds started out nice and then died. I then started motoring around for about 30 miles. During this time I checked to see if I would get a shock and to my surprise NOTHING. Not only that the starter motor started working as normal. I've got ghost on board!! It will be to the end of the week before I can check things out. How do I run an electrical check of the motor running on dry land? Jim S/V Java
