Effect of Bimini on Heeling??

Is it possible that a bimini can have a substantial impact on the heeling angle and tendency of a H260 to round up? I am just wondering because we sail in competitions with the bimini up and everyone says that is a bad thing to do. We have the smaller bimini...

Windage and weight

If you're serious about racing you would want to remove all excess windage from your boat as well as weight. That's probably where the advice is coming from. We sail our H26 with the bimini up only in light winds (we don't race it) due to the changes we have to do to the mainsheet with the bimini deployed. Jim
