At Ease,When looking at that Edson system I felt that it looked great and improved visibility by keeping the instruments low. However, the width of the pedistal itself might make the cockpit seem more cramped. I have a 1977 MK I and getting past that wheel with the narrower pedistal is tight. I felt a wider pedistal would make for even less room.My guess is that you're looking for a way to mount electronics at the helm. If that's the case you may want to look at Navpod instrument housings. I looked at both Edson & Navpod & found the Navpod to be of much higher quality & they were a lot cheaper. They also have a number of pre-cut instrument pods for popular instruments like the Raymarine ST-60 series & RL/ST charplotters & radars.
