we are thinking of installing an edson vision seried wheel pedestal on our 91 c30, does anyone out there have any experience with these pedestals?

thank you, but that is where we first saw the pedestal. what would be appreciated is any real-life experience with this upgrade, especially on a c30.

My 2 Cents...

At Ease, When looking at that Edson system I felt that it looked great and improved visibility by keeping the instruments low. However, the width of the pedistal itself might make the cockpit seem more cramped. I have a 1977 MK I and getting past that wheel with the narrower pedistal is tight. I felt a wider pedistal would make for even less room. My guess is that you're looking for a way to mount electronics at the helm. If that's the case you may want to look at Navpod instrument housings. I looked at both Edson & Navpod & found the Navpod to be of much higher quality & they were a lot cheaper. They also have a number of pre-cut instrument pods for popular instruments like the Raymarine ST-60 series & RL/ST charplotters & radars. Installing electronics, for me, was a snap and they look great. Check out the link below, if interested. Allen Schweitzer s/v Falstaff C-30 Hull #632

you are absolutely correct, but the edson offers the other advantage of a single engine control. the navpods don't have enough room with the standard c30 pedestal to take a garmin 2010, raymarine st4000, and a small radar if i add one. that's the problem. actually the navpods would make things more crowded than the edson system. i'd love to hear from people with actual experience with the edson.
