My clutch cable just let go on my C30. Seaching the web I came up with a cable type Edson 33 Series Cable - #734. Does anyone kow if this is the right cable and what length I need to order. Also are there any gotcha's replacing the cable, for example it looks like it's going to be tight if not impossible to feed the non-flebile portion throught the bottom of the pedestle......does the pedestle need to be released to allow the cable through? Let go

I assume by "let go" you mean that it broke. The sheath should be intact. You will need to remove it and measure for length. Where are the controls, on the pedistal or port cockpit seatee? I will assume you have wheel steering and they are on the pedistal. Look on the Edson web site, FAQ, No. 18, Engineering Bulliten 92-316. This will explain it. I thought my cables were bad, at least according to the surveyor. I checked with the repair yard at my marina and got a few suggestions to try prior to replacing them. Try this first, disconnect the cable from the transmission and have someone move the shift handle back and forth a few times. If the cable moves with the handle then it is not broken, look for some other problem. If not, then it probably is, though the cable holder could be loose enough to allow the sheath to move with the cable. The Edson instructions are clear and easy to follow.
