o.k. Kermit what about an area there that I can anchor off and leave her sit? Would be good to only use marina when needed

The tides do seem pretty treacherous to me but I haven't done enough time on the coast to know if they are any worse at Edisto than anywhere else. I don't recall seeing any boats anchored out on a long-term basis although I did see one anchored overnight in the creek above Edisto Marina once. He was gone the next morning.

Alright while I have not been on Edisto I am pretty sure it's safe to navigate since coastguard operates there.

Just be careful to read your charts carefully when coming into the creek to get to Edisto Marina. The shoals can be killer. We call them sandbars. Maybe there's a difference between shoals and sandbars. They become islands at low tide.

Have you spent any time at Edisto? There's only one grocery store and it's nowhere near the marina. Edisto Island is drop-dead gorgeous, although in a different way than @Boat Babe , island that attracts rich folks and commoners such as myself. But dang they don't have many amenities there. Unspoiled beauty. Sorta like the Boat Babe.

Yes it's were me and the better half go to the beach. But if you get off the main beach stretch back where the (creek) is there are many resturants some with dineing areas out on the water! Loved that watching the shrimp boats and dolphins play!!!

Been looking at charts online #11517 shows it well also goes inland think there are areas that I will be able to anchor and go to shore and go home!

Never been in that area but my wanderlust got the best of me and I had to look it up. Looks like the currents around there can get up to 3+kts...oof. The island looks gorgeous though -- just time it right, haha!
