I have been looking for something to use as an edge guard on the inside edge of the companionway - the aluminum lip edge of our 1990 Hunter 33.5. The Admiral keeps hitting her shin on it and has requested (do something with this) to provide a soft/less hard edge. Has any of you come across anything to do this? The top return can only be about 3/16" while the bottom return can be anything up to about 13/16". The thickness of the lip is about 1/8".

I have looked at W.M and Defender to no avail. I thought I found something at Marine Connections Liquidators in Ft. Pierce, FL, but the top return was about 3/8' instead of 3/16". I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

I would just lay a folded towel or similar across the entire lower section while the Mrs is onboard. Simple, cheap, and effective.

Automotive Body side moldings

You might want to try some of the body side molding and door edge moldings made for autos. They come in a variety of sizes, shapes and colors that might fit your application. You can try your local auto supply or search the Internet. Here is a site that I have used. It has good prices and you can see the cross section dimensions of the various products. www.brandsport.com/trimgard1.html.
