Hi, Two years ago I read an article in Pacific Yachting magazine about a Canadian boater who invented a "boat sleeve". This clever device resembles an oil boom. It floats in your moorage and is the length of your boat. One end has a "Y" shape. The other end is enclosed. Below the floating boom hangs a contoured fabric that encases the hull like a glove. You steer your boat into the "Y" end of the boom. It separates and as you move forward closes around the hull of the boat effectively sealing it from any light penetrating to the hull. When the hull is denied any light marine organic growth on the hull is inhibited and eliminates the need for annual bottom coats. The inventor had great success during tests with this device and it was apparantly patented and ready for commercial production. Since then I cannot find any information at all anywhere. If you know where to find more info please let me know. Thanks.
