Eastern NC Ramps

Hi all, I touched on this in the Ask All Sailors forum, but I thought this would probably be the best place to ask a couple of area specific questions. I am a hopefully soon to be trailer sailor, based out of eastern NC. I am looking for ramps on the Pamlico and the Neuse where I could leave my truck and trailer for a couple of days, and that are also concrete and long enough to launch without rolling off. Also, bridges and power lines come into play. Would love to launch at Washington Park or Blount's creek, but there are bridges in these areas. I think McCotter's/Broad Creek Marinas have dirt ramps. I can only think of two good places on the western Pamlico- Dinah's Landing and Aurora. Dinah's landing looks like a short ramp, and I don't know about leaving my truck behind in Aurora. Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated!

mr14yak- It may be some distance away for you, depending on where you live, but I enjoy sailing my Mac 26S out of Mackeys into the Albemarle Sound. They have a good paved ramp (ramp fee = $5) and you can leave your truck & trlr overnight without much worry. If you are not familiar with this area, Mackeys Landing is about 10 miles east of Plymouth on Kendricks Creek. The marina has a store and restaurant. Edenton is about 9 miles north across the sound. Try the ncsail.org website. There is a large community of trailer sailors from Eastern NC. They will know all of the ramps in the area.

Thanks for the great info (and also the response in the Ask All Sailors forum). Paul, I am from near Greenville. Have actually fished out of Mackey's for stripers, but it has been a while. Hope to see you all out on the water soon.

My marina has a $5 ramp and is at the mouth of the Pamlico and the Neuse.
Paradise cove, we are a day sail from alot of places.
