yes, it's cool. the default display is surface trajectory with clickable options to look at layers aloft. it depends upon the U.S. National Weather Service/National Centre for Environmental Prediction Global Forecast System model. it must track various air parcels for a short time period and that results in the apparent wind motion on the display. also of interest is the colour coding to indicate wind speed. by looking aloft you can see what the jet stream is doing (look at the 150hPa display for this.)

Yea, I thought the site had a lot of bells-n-whistles. Glad you found it worthwhile.
I've been tracking a front coming to the area on both real-time satellite vs. the Earth Wind Map site & it was in agreement.

It makes another KOOL desktop icon for weather watching & validating. I even checked out Italy, as I have old-world family there. Knowledge is power man.

Let's hope the USA hockey team beats the Canadian team at the Olympics today. I bet I'll get a lot of heat from my Canadian brothers on this one.
