trip through Detroit River

Colin, Got your e-mail address. Ours will be in the mail I send you. We're planning our trip to start the second or third week of July. My crew (not my wife on this trip) is taking two weeks off work so that we can sail from Tobermorey around Manitoulin and into the North Channel. Our ultimate goal is Drummond Island where I plan to work for a week on a cottage that another teacher and I are building. Yes, I am a school teacher...summers off you know. Our e-mail address is tomclaud@wcnet.org. Look forward to hearing from you.

Tom, Say Hello to Denny Bailey

Tom when you are at Drummond island, please say hello to Denny Bailey at Drummond Island Yacht Haven, from the Vasey's, it would be greatly appreciated. (We are extremely envious, of your northern tour, we used to live and sail from Bruce Mines Ont.) TX John Vasey vaseyj@ihorizons.net PS if you or Colin require crew, on the way up or way back please let me know!!

Drummond Island

John, I've been there and met some of the family, but I doubt that they remember us. We bought charts there a couple of years ago. I docked at Fort Drummond Marine on the southwest end near the stone quarrey when we were there. I was there working and sailing for three weeks, drove home, returned, and then sailed back home to Catawba. The wife and I have visited Bruce Mines several times over the years. We had use of a cottage on Bright Lake near Iron Bridge for a couple of years and stalked about that whole coast line by land cruiser before we got the boat. I'm a school teacher with summers off so I've considered taking dockage at Bruce Mines, Thessalon or Blind River because it's so reasonable and would allow plenty of time to explore the North Channel. By the way, I'm looking for one crew for the return trip this summer. A good friend is going to crew for me on the cruise up to Tobermorey and through the North Channel, but I need someone for the return trip. The wife is not a long-distance cruiser. Thanks for your interest. Tom
