My 1995 Hunter 35.5 has a Dytek GP1230 3-bank battery charger installed. It has been charging 2 group 27 Seavolt (WM) deep cycle gel cells for at least six years. I acquired the vessel in 2001. I wish to replace the batteries with AGM units. Does anyone have the charge voltage specs (full and float charge rates) on this charger? A user manual would be invaluable.

Are yousure about stayign with Dytek

Are you sure you want to stick with the Dytek? I had a Dytek on my 1995 Hunter 29.5 I acquired in 2004 and it proved to be an outdated piec eof equipment ... noisy, a constant charge (no multi-stage charing characteristics, etc). In fact, one other Hunter owner sarcastically called them "fry-teks" becaue they have a tendency to burn up batteries. It seems like I checked around and found they aren't even made any longer which made my decision easy to replace it with one of the new generation chargers -- much, much improved. Now it's whisper quiet, about half the size and weight with multi-stage charging which enhances the life of my batteries, to say nothign of making me feel the boat is safer when I leave it hooked to shore power.

Checked the Internet

but found nothing. Thanks for the information so far. If it's true that this unit is simply a ferro-resonant transformer, it must go. Thanks for the replys.
