Can I use a faucet made for home? I use electric pumps to deliver water to my stock faucets right now, but I want to upgrade the head faucet so I also use it as a shower. The ones from West Marine are really expensive compared to the ones at Home Depot, plus Home depot has a much better selection.

It will work

I had leaking faucets in my galley and in the head sink. I replaced them with ordinary home type faucets, I think i bought them in Lowes. Since you are only using them for fresh water, there should be no problem. I had mine for about 5 years and they worked just fine. I also used a sink from Lowes and it was ok also. The sink would show signs of minor rust streakes from time to time but they would scrub out. I would say that was more of a function of it being a cheap sink rather then from not being "marine " grade. In most cases, it is extremely unwise to use anything on a boat that is not marine grade. This just happens to be one of the exceptions. Have fun on your 'new' boat

I used Delta fuacets in the galley

and the head and an Elkay sink in the galley. Plumbing is plumbing standard kitchen sink faucets will last thirty years in a house no matter how they are neglected and abused.

Just need to be air tight

I also installed a Home Depot faucet (delta/moen) on our H'31. It worked great. The only thing you need to be sure of is the faucet does not leak air. This would cause your pump to cycle. I see no reason why this would happen.

RV faucets

I got a replacement at a local RV dealer. Much cheaper.

Standard plumbing fixtures ....

The smaller 'wet bar' fixtures work well. I like the small 'compound single lever' types with flexible hose connection ... so that you can pull the faucet head out of the holder on a flex hose.

Why use a marine faucet?

I have a beautiful single handle Moen faucet in my galley. Most faucets will work as long as the centers are compatible[spread from stem to stem usualy 4in.or 8in]. I know of no new faucets that leak air if that was the case they would leak water.
