While trying to fix my furler jib, I broke the drumb bearing top and now can't find it anywhere. I called the website sailcdi.com for this part and they were not able to provide me with info on how to obtain this piece. Here is the the spec. 4/6 Model A ---Drumb Bearing top - Part# 5970. If anyone has any info on how to obtain one please let me know. Thanks. Please Check the website Item M. Thanks in advance for any info provided.

What are you really asking for?

I looked at the website. Did they suggest the "Flexible Furler Drum Conversion?" That looks like it would solve your problem. Also, I think it's pretty clear on their website what the status is: "Reefer Spare Parts Availability Update: We still have aluminum extrusions, halyards, and halyard top fittings. We have run out of all Reefer drum halves, bearings and lineguards. However we are now offering Flexible Furler spool drum conversion kits. The conversion kit replaces all Reefer bottom end parts. The upgrade drum comes with an adapter to fit your Reefer extrusions. If, in the future, you want to upgrade to a CDI Flexible Furler plastic luff, it will fit into your upgrade drum once you take the adapter out." Other than the used or salvage market, you are out of luck on this one, unless someone can make a replacement for you. What's it made of, and how did it break?

Drum Bearing piece - Part M

Thanks for your input. the drum bearing broke while I was trying to open the genoa. The conversion kit is my final option but I didn't want to change the entire system for such a small piece. The piece is made of plastic. I will try a salvage website next. Thanks.

I don't blame you !

I would be mad if I couldnt' get a simple part, but was told to upgrade! If you want to send me the broken part I might be able to machine one for you.
