I am trying to locate a 1" x 49" drive (or is it called a prop shaft?) shaft for a hunter 30. I have searched the internet and have had no luck, I must confess I'm not the best at this stuff. Any help would be appreciated.

If you are in the Chesapeake Bay area, try Ocran Boat Shop in White Stone Virginia, phone (804) 435-6305. He will make a shaft to your dimensions. He made a 1" x 44" shaft for my '79 Hunter 30. I re-engined with a BetaMarine BD722, thus the length difference. I don't know if he will ship to you, but it may be worth a call.

Brian: You may want to check with your local prop shop or marina yards. They make these things up custom to your required specs.

If you have the old shaft take it to the prop shop, if not ask them how the measure. Most shops measure from the coupler to the beginning of the taper not the whole shaft.
