Just curious if any other 310 owners have installed a drinking water filter other than the on the faucet type?
I purchased a double filter unit that will except the fairly universal style of filters (Watts 2-stage undercounter filter unit http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018MXH04/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The intent is to install the filters some place where they won't be in the way and install a drinking water only faucet at the galley sink. That way I am only using the filters for drinking water and not for all water like showers or dishes. I am hoping to get about 3-6 months life out of the filters with this set up. I don't think the OEM fresh water pump will generate enough pressure to get the full usable life out of the filters but with only using it for drinking water I think I will get an acceptable lift from them. Right now our drinking water comes from gallon bottles we buy at the grocery store. This won't work when we head out cruising next year.
This weekend looks to be a washout so I might tackle this upgrade. So I am looking for suggestions for locations where to install the filter units. I was initially thinking below the galley sink but I can't do that without changing the faucet and my Bride doesn't want to change the faucet. So that's out.
Thanks for any input.
