Underfloor valves
John,You may have a problem, you may not.First, the valves you mentioned under the mid-cabin floor are very important, you have to manipulate them every time you want to pump from a different sump. Here's how it works:The suction from the pump is routed to that manifold; the pump will draw from all three "sumps", 1) bilge, 2) icebox, 3) shower sump.....but not all at once. You can only draw from one sump at a time, so you must close at least two others. The valves are quarter-turn type valves, and the handle indicates the direction of flow, i.e., if the handle is in-line with the body of the valve, its open. If the handle is 90 degrees to the valve body, its closed. Its kind of confusing as some of the valves have elbows which lead into the assembly, but you can figure it out if you study it for a bit. Just make sure only one of these 1/4 turn valves is open at any one time, and you should be able to pump. Also make sure the overboard thru-hull is open as well. That valve is on the port side, and access to it is from the aft cabin removeable wooden access panel. You may also have a break in the shower sump hose under the hull liner. My 1999 321 had that problem and I suspect others do too as the the way they routed the hose makes it prone to splitting. I had to cut out a piece of the hull liner under the floor to get access to the shower drain fitting, and replace the drain fitting and a section of hose.I always leave the bilge valve in the open position, and the icebox and shower closed. I have refrigeration, so I don't find much need to drain the icebox, but whenever I use the shower I must lift up the floor and close the bilge valve and open the shower valve. Keeping the icebox and shower valves closed will also keep your icebox from draining into the shower sump too.You may have also figured this out too, but FYI, the shower pushbutton to activate the pump is on the Cabin Light circuit, so the Cabin Lights breaker must be on for the switch to work. Beneteau told me this is because they didn't want the overboard pump on the same circuit as the fresh water pump as it would be too much draw if both ran at the same time (very likely while taking a shower). If you have further questions, email me at TKP62@aol.com and I'll see if I can get you some digital pics of my setup as I have it all marked to show valve positions and direction of flow.Hope that helps,Tim
