My Venture 25 has a 1.75" hole in the center of the cabin floor. Is there a drain system attached to this? Mine is sometimes awash. Thanks, Isnibs.

Post photos of it if you can. My Mac25 has a drain hole in the cockpit but not in the cabin. Chris M25 Chara

Sorry but some time ago my digital camera became pixel challenged. Maybe my P.O. didn't have a fish finder or was going to repair the floor as it is a bit spongy in that area.

take a pix

Get someone you know with a digital to snap a shot of this hole and someone will help. Post in or put it somewhere with a link. Steve P. PS. You can use a regular camera and have your developer put it on cd or send it to their web site.

Just a thought

Where exactly is this hole? It occurs to me it's about the right diameter for one of the smaller hand bilge pumps. Just a thought. Steve P.

water?

The only reason I can think of having a hole in that location is to let any water that gets into the cabin drain into your bilge. That being said, it is a horible location for the hole. Is it reinforced with anything? It looks blue in the photo. Is that "blue" a plug for it? Chris M25 Chara

another thought

Rereading Steve's post I thought of something else. Is the hole big enough to get one of those telescoping hand held pumps (the ones that look like a kids water toy/gun) into it. If so, Steve may be right. Chris M25 Chara

Love my P.O.

The hole looks blue because my camera is picking up on the blue mat and cushion in the background. I have since found out that, as per your suggestion Chris, when the bilge is totally emptied with the bilge pump the water in the hole is gone. When I first got the boat there was a plug in it but after using the potty for the first time and trying to flush to the holding tank, the contents flushed onto the cabin floor. The plug belonged in the end of the potty pump. I figger as the floor around the hole is a bit spongy I may use something to fill the area between the floor and hull ( about one inch ) and plug the hole. Any ideas on what to fill and plug with? .Thanks both for your input. Isnibs

Stainless drain cover

I guess I'd fit a stainless bathtub or drain screen of some kind over this hole. Then if it is in the right place and the boat fills with water you can stick the hand pump in there and empty the bilge. Looks like someone was looking for oil in all the wrong places :) Steve P.
