Hey everyone,
On my Cat 22 I just purchased, the drains maybe plugged. Below is a valve were the 2 drain hoses come together then they run into 1 pipe down below. I'm going to check the hoses to see if there clogged but were else does that water run to. Is there another area I need to check. I will make sure the valve on the two drains hoses works while I check the hoses.

In earlier C-22s this is is. Some have added scuppers in the transom as per CD web site as they are way more capable.
Perhaps you can use a shop vac or a garden hose to unclog these drains.

Could be filled with leaves from the winter. If the valve works, try something as suggested or even a long coat hanger to clear it out.

I was going to look at it tonight. I just wasn't sure where the water drains once it goes throughout the pipe below that the 2 tubes drain into. Also is there a drain plug underneath anywhere like my bass boat would have?

The cockpit drains go into a bronze pipe that is glassed into the bottom of the hull just behind the cable for the swing keel, (if your boat is a swing keel). There is a tee where the drain for the galley ties in, with a valve to prevent backflow into the galley when sailing. I have experienced multiple clogging of the cockpit drains. I usually clear them by getting a 5 gal bucket of water, use the hand bilge pump, pump water from the bucket into one of the drains, while standing on a folded rag covering the other drain, and clear the clog. This year I am going to install scuppers in the transom with parts I purchased last year. Then hopefully I can get the boat into the slip that I paid for this past February, befor it's haul-out time. Maybe I should retire and enjoy life.

You should go to Lowes and buy a very small rubber plunger. Put some water in the cockpit and go to town. Keep it on the boat all the time, because you never know when you might need it. There was one on our boat when we bought it, and I had no idea what it was for untill the scuppers started to run slow. Works great. Hope this helps

C22 drains will plug up if a June bug falls in, loose dirt, dirt dobbers, dust, you name it. keep a snake handy to unplug it.

Yes everyone is correct on the drain and how to clear them. I check tonight and the lines are clear. I talked to tech support at Catalina Direct and they told me after checking the lines while on the phone with them the valve for the back flow is shot. They said to replace valve or do the through hull fix but I'm not that mechanically incline. Thanks for all the help.
