Hunter 23 WIll be at a Navy base
Help, I have a couple of questions on a 1987 Hunter 23. Has anyone replaced the anchor drain and the cockpit drain tubing? Mine is like clear plastic but kind of corrugated. DOes this sound original or has it been replaced, can anyone tell? Does anyone know the inside diameter of the hose or pipe? I really do not want to take anything apart until I have the replacement tubing. The other issue is that one of the shackles broke on the main. After looking far and wide I found one and bought four. Can anyone clue me in on where I can get both the slugs and shackles. Someone told me to stick with plastic? I believe the smart thing to do is at the end of the season to take the sail off and replace them all. I am not sure they have ever been replaced. ALso, does anyone know the size of the slugs.

Thanks for the help!

I just replaced my anchor locker drain (87 Hunter 23). It was a 3/4" hose, I bought some heavy flex tubing and new clamps from a local boat shop for just a few bucks. Be sure to check the drain itself, mine was leaking around the hose until I reseated with new caulking. While you're at it, check your cockpit drain, mine was 1-1/2" hose.

My main has plastic slides too and I found replacements in the westmarine catalog. Just be sure to measure first, there are several sizes.
