Has anyone used Doyle Sail makers in Alameda CA?
What are your opinions and experiences with this sailmaker?
Has anyone ordered sails through the Doyle Sails Loft on this site?
Again what are your opinions and experiences? Pointers? Suggestions? Warnings?
I have recieved a quote for sails by phone from the local Loft and the quote is about 30% higher than the prices on this site.
I do know at least some differences of ordering on this site are that I have to measure myself and there is no direct personal attention.
I want to get good quality sails right for my boat and not especially go for price.
I would though like to get a combination of price and quality.

They are a good loft and fabricate the sails there. When I requested a quote for new sails for a Hunter 31 in Nov 2009 they would not firm up the sail area until after I purchased the sails. As a result I I purchased the sails from Sylvan with UK Sails in the Grand Marina in Alameda. He delivered the sails installed in 3 weeks. I since purchased an asymmetrical sail for the Hunter 31 and just purchased a partial vertical battened sail for my new Hunter 386 from Sylvan, Sylvain Barrielle (uksanfrancisco@sbcglobal.net, sanfrancisco@ukhalsey.com) 510-523-3966 510-872-6894 cell. I just wanted to say that I've known the Doyle guys in Alameda for many years and they do a great job. If you choose them you'll be very pleased with the result.

if you choose to order from us you will get personal attention, but there's a little bit more DIY to the project, specifically measuring and installing the sail.

Doyle is full service, top quality loft with a good reputation. If you want the discount stuff you'll have to look elsewhere.
