Hi Folks,
We are quite happy for the most part with our 2006 Beneteau 423. The interior is very well appointed, but one disappointment is the door and cabinetry hardware. Most of the solver fittings, handles and cabinet catches (push-through-with-finger-type) are either plastic or chromed metal.

The chrome metal is heavily oxidized and cleaning only leaves large pits. The plastic push through cabinet releases I find painful when under way and my finger catches the hole in the cabinet at the wrong angle.

So a couple of questions. Where to get replacements for the chrome bits, that would be of superior quality? Second question is how does the chrome spring return door handle on the door to the heads come apart?

Thanks,

What brand hardware do you have?

Many builders used Perko fittings, easily found on the web or at WM.

I did a search on these key words: "cabinet finger push hardware" and found several sites that have this type of hardware:

http://www.dkhardware.com/product-2...=60257250132&gclid=CLDQpp-X-LgCFcdxQgodd2oAyQ

http://hardwaredistributors.com/pull-finger-3-4stnklpk4.html?gclid=CIXC3qmX-LgCFeV7Qgod9i0AUA

I too have a 423 and so far, have not had many cabinetry issues. However, the hinges sometimes get stiff (use WD40) and the door handle springs can wear (heads). The Beneteau423 Yahoo group has much information on your boat so you may want to join that group too.
