Does size matter?

*box After all is said by the landlocked sailors, there are still many stories about small boats like Serafin and others that have circumnavigated for many years. There are also stories of 50 footers running aground and breaking up 100 miles down shore. Are there any blue water sailors out there that have taken the Beneteau First 26 offshore? I am considering employing my First 26, 1986 model, for a rather long possible circumnavigation. Size does matter in extreme conditions, but it also matter in shallow harbors and shoals. Of course, the ultimate truth to using a sailboat is 'compromise', however, is there anyone that can speak of experience on a voyage in a Beneteau First 26? Hard to find, B26Skipper
