Does anyone sail in Nashville?

Well, we may be making a move from beautiful North FL to Nashville, TN. Does anyone have any thoughts on where to sail there, Percy Priest Lake maybe? If so, how is the wind? If we make the move we'd love to take the boat, but it'd be a reasonable expense to get it up there and I wouldn't want to spend the money if the sailing is horrible.thanks!David "Sea Monkeys"

Yes they actually sail here

David, yes the do sail here, i live across from Priest lake and they have a nice community here. there are a few marinas that have slips for sail boats, but at 22' you probably trailer? There is also Old Hickory lake.

Thanks, so there is fair wind there? I don't trailer her, she stays in a slip or I guess I could use a mooring. Glad I won't have to sell her then!david

Lake Guntersville

Lake Guntersville is only a couple of hours south of Nashville and has some excellent sailing. I wish my boat was there now rather than in Destin.Check out the sailing clubs on Lake Guntersville and the link below.

Well, if we make the move, I'll put her on the lake and leave her. I don't have a trailer and the thought of rigging the boat every time would lead me to not sail!I know that lake, pretty place.David
