Does anyone have a keel drain plug??

Hi everyone, I bought a Vega last year and sailed all summer in the
St-Lawrence gulf. It was great!

I'm looking for a keel drain plug kit. What is the diameter and the
thread of the plug? Is it the same as the original? Let me know
about that. Thank you. You have a cool site.

Hi Vega2055

We make the keel drain kit here in the UK. If you make your own please ensure you use quality bronze. A Vega in the UK had the keel drain changed by a so called “qualified” marine engineer and six weeks later the Marina called up the Vega owner to inform him that his Vega had nearly sunk whilst tied to the pontoon! Luckily they managed to get a crane lift in time to save a complete sinking but the batteries, wiring, upholstery etc were totally ruined.

I will have a couple of the keel drain kits ready for the end of the week. Drain Plug by itself is £5 Complete Keel Drain Kit including new surround is £22. Carriage to the UK is about £5
