I was looking for a used sail boat in marina's around this local area and found a boat I would like to sail. On the Fl title the boats is listed as American. I have searched the net but have been unable to locate a builder. Also do not fine any listed on the net for sale. Can any one point me in the right directions.

What do you know about the boat? Is it a Hunter? Are there any other names in the documentation or discussions with a seller? How long is the boat? We'd like to help but need some clues! David Lady Lillie

American

There was a boat manufactured called an American, which were 22 - 26ft in length and were trailer sailors. I think to get head room you stood in a trough runing the length of the boat. They were pretty boxy and did not sail all that well. The rigging was pretty minimal. This might be the same boat. I think you can pick ione up for under $3000.
