I'm just having a new jib made. The old jib wasn't tall enough to reach all the way up the furler. It had a 12" or so wire strop attached between its head and the jib halyard. Can I have some feed back as to other H30 88-94s? I'd like to have a full hoist jib (one that uses all the forestay length) but I'm worried about why that strop was there - maybe to stop the sail fouling the top spreaders? You can just about see a strop or something on te original brochure. Do I have to have something similar?
