Larry Lake, some time ago you asked if anyone had an original
dodger. Do you need one, or what?
I have original dodger from 1971 (I think it is still in garage). A
blue plastic one in sad shape. Kept it for use during winter storage
of boat but never use it. Also have a relatively new one in light
beige colour, which i do not need because replaced with a higher
system. Perhaps someone in southern B.C. or N.W. U.S. needs one?
Has to be someone in the neighbourhood, it is impossible to ship the
frames.
Hinging mast plates. Vega Marin still lists for sale, the plates
that go on cabin top under the mast, but they are the ordinary ones
not the kind that allows mast to hinge back. That kind has a little
extension at the back supporting a small rod athwartships. The mast
has a little hook on the back (about the size of your little finger,
crooked). When the mast is tilted back, hook goes on rod and base of
mast tilts off the plate. I will be sending sketches to Chris, who
was wondering about this. My wife and I raise and lower mast most
years.
