Has any H240 owner figured out a workable Dodger that can be used while sailing to keep the rain out and allow easy access below without the need to put in the hatch slides? The Pop-Tops are not what I'm looking for.

Check out the owner Pictures of 240's in this Forum and you may find one photo with a dodger and none with Biminis, although several Owner critiques mention Biminis. None the less the location of the main sheet is the issue that will cause you grief with trying to sail and stay dry. Many larger boats can use mid boom sheeting and install a dodger connected with a zipper panel to the Bimini. Your easiest modst productive option for sailing in the rain may be to install a cockpit Bimini behind the existing main sheet. I had the same problem on our 28.5 and elected to go with the largest Bimini and not a dodger. Since we kept the mainsheet on the bridge deck, we could not have connected a Dodger to the Bimini while sailing anyway. Our mainsail was cut higher at the clew in order to have standing headroom under the Bimini.

...here used to sell dodgers for 240's - apparently, no more. If I'm wrong, Phil will surely chime in. For what it's worth, I leave the compaionway cover on most of the time-rolled up and made tidy with clothespins. When it rains, I put in the bottom hatchboard and drop the canvas down. I can still get in and out of the cabin easily.

I believe the dodgers sold here were made by Island Nautical (in NY) They have patterns for almost ever production boat and will build a dodger in any Sunbrella color available. They send it UPS in three weeks. They are (were) at most big boat shows and have photos of their product installed on most vessels. Buy it at a show for better savings (or ask for a show price by email or phone) Mine looked good after nine years in New England and only had minor restiching after seven years

Close the slide hatch.
We sail here in Florida where rain is almost a daily event and we get some soakers where it seems a single drop could bathe a poodle. We use a Bimini as the sun here, not the cold is our worst enemy. We have never put the companionway slides in to keep water from going inside the cabin, we do close the slide hatch and usually get very little water in. Let me put it another way, when you are soaked to the bone whatever water went into the cabin seems like a very small spill. If you are going in just crouch and watch your head.

I'm in DC. Took my first trip to the mouth of the river last year - stopped in Cobb Island on the way - Pirate's Castle Marina, or something. Lo and behold, walked right passed a bee-u-tiful Hunter called Java. That's gotta be you. Nice boat!
