Hi Nicholas,
Although we sold "City Zoo" (Vega 1590) a number of years ago, I still monitor the web for news of old friends. "Once a Vega owner…"
I wanted to strongly recommend to you the idea of two chrome handrails, mounted atop the dodger (port and starboard, at least a foot in from each edge, fastened securely to the "ribs" (through the canvas, connected to the fore and aft chrome frame). They proved to be a great safety feature when making our way past the dodger (to the foredeck and back into the cockpit), especially in rough seas. I might suggest a velcro fastening on the "collar" around the vertical portion of the tubing to prevent leaks, but that small detail was easily added by the canvas shop.
I wish I could search through our old photos to send a good illustration. I'll have a look if you are interested.
I could also send a rough sketch to give you a better idea.
Best regards and fair winds,
Mitzi Johnson
